Good service. It will be great if the pick up could be also in Barra Tijuca. The bus and the boat were great, and stuff helpful. It will boost a lot of the guide can talk a bit more of the excursion. I always loved when they tell me more about the place we are visiting, what we are seeing and the history,

Itinerary

With an archipelago of more than 300 islands and countless beaches, the town of Angra lies in the heart of this paradise, some 130 km south of Rio.

An spectacular view: winds over mountainous terrain covered in lush Atlantic rain forest. Graceful coves and sandy beaches, little islands and crystal clear water make the journey a memorable occasion.

The town of Angra dos Reis has been continuously settled since the early 1500’s. There are many lovely old buildings from the colonial past when the town was a great port and agricultural center. A schooner waits at the dock to take visitors on a cruise of those many islands, stopping for a swim in the enticing turquoise blue waters. After pick ups at the hotels, the bus will depart for Angra (105 miles, average 2: 30h trip) where we will board a Schooner for the wonderful ride.

First you will get to Cataguases Islands. Certainly the most paradisiacal of the archipelago of Angra dos Reis. With a truly Caribbean aspect, the island, among the rest of the region, is the one that is closer to Angra, that is to the mainland. Sit back and relax in the schooner, get a sun bath and dive into the crystal clear waters.

Second stop is at the Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon) is a natural pool with sandy bottom, some rocks and predominantly blue water, located between two islets in the important historical region of Freguesia de Santana. The boats are anchored and visitors can go down to swim, float with "noodles" (foam floats) provided by the crews, snorkel (available for rental) or feed the "sargentinhos" fish (scientific name abdufdef) with bread crumbs, already addicted to being fed by visitors.

Then you will go Baixo Beach. Deserted and beautiful, it is little known by tourists visiting Ilha Grande. Some end up having the pleasure of getting to know this refuge through boat trips around the region. With a good strip of clear and fine sand, it has a calm sea, which looks like a large natural pool, very suitable for swimming. Because of its beauty and tranquility, it enchants its visitors, who cannot resist a delicious swim in the crystal clear waters of this beach. This is a great place to relax, go hiking or go scuba diving. Surrounded by a large amount of preserved native forest, there is no nearby infrastructure, indicating that tourists bring food and drinks to the place.

At last you will stop bu the Gipoia Island. It is the second largest island in the bay of Angra dos Reis, where you will make your last stop on the beach of Vitorino. On this beach is located the restaurant where you will have a delicious lunch. This island is a good option for children and the elderly who wish to take a refreshing sea bath. After that you will get back to the bus that will take passengers back to their hotels.
