  • Do not intentionally touch them;
  • Do not scream;
  • Do not feed them;
  • Do not use sunscreen, repellent, body cream or oil. When in contact with certain products, porpoises have their eyes and smell attacked.
  • Regardless of weather conditions, Tours will take place normally. The schedules may change due to weather, access, or other factors that the company believes may interfere with the safety or well-being of passengers.
  • In the period of ebb there is a phenomenon in the rivers called Piracema (fish migratory movement) which influences, in some cases, the porpoises to follow a shoal that is passing through, and for that reason does not appear as usual in the lakes where visitors are taken for this interaction; that is, there are possibilities of not interacting with these animals, a fact that we can only conclude on the spot on the day of the tour.
  • In the period of the ebb (September to December) according to the level of the rivers, the visit to the water lilies lake is likely to be suspended, being replaced by a walk in the jungle glimpsing species of plants of the Amazon.
  • Wear light clothes; bring a towel and swimwear. Bring sunscreen and insect repellent (remember the warning regarding contact with animals)
  • We suggest you taking cash in local currency in case of personal expenses with handicrafts and consumption at the bar
  • Attention: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no interaction with the porpoises in the water for an indefinite period.

Itinerary

After pick up at the hotels, passengers will proceed to the Port of Manaus to board the speedboat. Navigating up the Negro River towards the floating platform, we will cross the Jornalista Phelippe Daou Bridge, better known as Rio Negro Bridge. Upon arriving at the floating platform for contemplating the porpoises, it will be possible to observe these docile animals being fed by a native legalized by Ibama. Sometimes you are allowed to swim with the porpoises, but this is not guaranteed. Make sure to pack a bathing suit to be prepared if the opportunity arises. The groups are divided up to 10 people, following the environmental rules, so that everyone can have fun and contemplate this wonder of nature.

The trip continues to the indigenous community where the Indians from the upper Negro River and different ethnic groups come together to share their dances and culture. As guests of honor, tourists are invited to participate in a presentation ritual accompanied by a lot of joy and dance. After that brief moment, time will be available for photographs and purchases of local crafts. Enjoy the peace and energy to interact with the natives and live this unique moment intensely.

After this incredible experience and cultural exchange, we will descend on the left bank of Negro River, seeing the floating port of Manaus, regional boats and passing the edge of the city towards the Ecological Park Janauary to see the Amazon’s famous Victoria regia (water lilies) water plant; have a regional lunch (menu based of fish, meat or chicken, salads and accompaniments, self-service buffet).Then you will visit local native craft stores and the community of floating houses of Catalan for the contemplation of the Pirarucu (Arapaima Gigas), the sweet water giant, native of the Amazon. After that, cruise down the Rio Negro to the Meeting of the Waters, the location where it meets the Amazon River. Be awed by this natural phenomenon, where the Rio Negro’s black waters and the Amazon’s muddy waters flow separately for a few miles. After contemplating it, tourists return to the Pier, where the air conditioned transportation will pick them up and take them back to their respective hotels.
