Rio’s highest peak, Pico da Tijuca (1022m – 3353ft) is located in the middle of the Tijuca Forest, and overlooks most of the city. Before the hiking, we will stop by the entrance of the national park to visit a gigantic and beautiful waterfall. The track starts at the idyllic Bom Retiro and lasts no more than one and a half hours. From there, we have a wonderful view to most of Tijuca Forest’s landmarks, besides the Maracanã and Engenhão stadiums, Guanabara Bay and a lot more

Pico da Tijuca, the highest peak in Rio de Janeiro at 1,022 meters (3,353 feet), is nestled in the heart of the Tijuca Forest and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city.

Before starting the hike, we’ll make a stop at the entrance of the Tijuca National Park to admire a majestic waterfall, a perfect introduction to the lush surroundings. The trail begins at the scenic Bom Retiro and takes approximately one and a half hours to reach the summit.
