Itinerary
This incredible tour offers an unforgettable view formed by the immense group of waterfalls of Foz do Iguaçu. Once inside the park, the van or bus will drive until you reach the trails and walkways that face the falls. We will walk from 40 minutes to 1 hour on the trails and walkways facing the falls on the Brazilian side and with panoramic views of the Argentine side.
After the pick up at your hotel, get ready for spectacular landscapes.
Nothing in the world of water compares to the grandeur and fascination of the natural spectacle offered by the impressive 275 waterfalls that form the Iguaçu Falls.
Located just a few kilometers from the confluence of the Iguaçu and Paraná rivers, these waterfalls amaze with their imposing volume and the strength of their currents.
The origin of the Falls dates back to a geological transformation that occurred around 150 million years ago, an event that profoundly altered the Earth's crust. In the Iguaçu region, these changes carved an immense canyon, full of rocky steps through which the river rushes, creating a dense mist and a thunderous roar that echoes into the distance.
With an average flow of 1,800 m³ per second and a volume of approximately 10 million liters of water per second, the waterfalls are impressive at any time of the year. During the rainy season, however, the spectacle becomes even more grandiose, with the significant increase in the flow of the Iguaçu River.
Of all the falls, the most impressive is the “Devil’s Throat”, which drops from a height of 90 meters. Its volume of water forms a cloud of mist so intense that it can be seen from kilometers away, making this natural wonder even more spectacular.
You can add options to make this experience even better:
Panoramic Helicopter Flight - 10 minutes approximately:
Thrilling, informative, this helicopter flight gives a completely different and unique perspective of the spectacular waterfalls.
Macuco - Floating Safari:
Ecological trails, canyons, wild animals and a spectacular view. Iguassu Falls are some of the things you´ll encounter during this unforgettable excursion through the Iguassu National Park.
The adventure begins at the entrance to the Macuco Safari, located 25 kilometer down Cataratas Highway inside Iguassu National Park. Board open jeep-towed wagons that allow for an unobstructed view of the scenery along the trail. During the stretch of three kilometers through the jungle, multi-lingual guides will point out examples of the flora and fauna of the Park.
Orchids, palm trees, bromeliads, centenarian trees, and even wild animals that occasionally cross the trail are pointed out by the guides.
The hike is the second stage of our journey. On a stretch of 600 meters, is a hike on a trail that leads to a waterfall called "Macuco Falls" (optional). The waterfall - perfect for a refreshing dip on hot days - spills down from a height of approximately 20 meters. Access is via a stairway carved into the ancient rock. The last stop is the Macuco Safari docks on the Brazilian side of the Iguassu River.
In the water, inflatable bi-motor boats await us. They´re constructed to withstand the rigors of the excursion, as well as being secure and efficient vessels. Before embarkation, passengers receive life-vests and plastic containers in which to protect photographic and filming equipment. The boat travels up-river passing the canyon facing the rapids at a speed that allows for scenic viewing.
Rocks, animals and ample amounts of greenery complete the scenery until the base of the Falls is reached, next to the "great horseshoe" know as the "Devils Throat".
Enjoy a waterfall shower. Rainbows, blue sky, mist and water in abundance, punctuate the spectacle whose high-point is the "The Three Musketeers". Here the captain maneuvers the boat in order to get close enough to provide the passengers with a quick and refreshing shower. Since at the end of the fun everyone normally ends-up wet, passengers more sensitive to cold should make sure to bring extra clothing to use after the boat excursion.
Comfortable shoes and clothing are highly recommended.
Bird Park:
The Bird Park is conveniently located at the entrance of the Iguassu National Park, and fully integrated into its natural surroundings. Mingle with and photograph hundreds of different native and exotic birds, reptiles, caimans, marmosets and butterflies in spacious walk-through aviaries and trails that wind through the jungle.
