Itinerary
Different from the other colonial cities of Brazil, the architecture of Paraty has character, originality and definition, forming a harmonious monument of the 18th century. Paraty is a Brazilian National Historic Monument and a UNESCO World History Patrimony Site.
65% of Paraty’s area is located inside the National Park of Serra da Bocaina. With thick walls decorated, its traditional uneven sidewalks and cobblestone streets, colonial houses with iron balconies, Masonic culture, the environment and characteristic structure of this charming city will take the tourist back in time.
The city tour is a walk through the historic center of the city accompanied by a professional guide who will tell curiosities and stories of past centuries, through the 04 main churches: Santa Rita de Cássia (has a sacred arts museum inside and a chapel beside, formerly a cemetery of drawers); Our Lady of Rosario; Church of Our Lady of Remedies; and Our Lady of Sorrows, and visit the House of Culture, art studios and ancient houses.
At the end of the walk, stop for tasting of cachaças and liqueurs (optional) at Cachaçarias in the Historic Center.
